STATEMENT OF FAITH

Please study this to know if you are in full agreement. We believe this Bible to be the ONLY perfect Word of God in existence today. We believe that it contains no errors, contradictions, or mistakes of any kind and cannot be improved upon. We believe that there is no further need of Greek or Hebrew texts since 1611. We accept no other “versions”, “paraphrases”, or “translations” believing them to be perversions written by modernistic teachers, theologians, and preachers, sponsored by the devil himself with filthy lucre and deliberate deception as their goal.

That the King James, Authorized Version, 1611 Bible is the Perfect, Inspired, Preserved, Infallible Word of the Living God without error, contradiction, or mistake of any kind or form preserved in the way God intended us to have it, for the study and edification of Christian people the world over and the salvation of lost sinners. We believe that there is no need to refer to Greek or Hebrew for word meanings to clarify or define an English word. WE HAVE, IN THE KING JAMES, AUTHORIZED VERSION, 1611 HOLY BIBLE GOD’S ONE AND ONLY PERFECT BOOK. Deut. 4:2, Ps. 12:6-7, Prov. 30:5-6, Matt. 24:35, Rom. 15:4, I Cor. 2:14, I Cor. 10:11, II Tim. 3:16-17, II Peter 1:16-21, Rev. 22:18-19.

The Bible is to be interpreted literally in all places except where it uses figurative language. Therefore, we believe that the Genesis account of creation is literal and that God created this world and everything in it in 6 (24-hour) days, after which, on the 7th day God rested (Gen. 1, 2; Ex. 20:11; Ps. 19:1; 33:6; 90:2; Col. 1:15-17; Heb. 11:3). Because we believe this, we reject the theory of evolution and all other theories that are contrary to literal interpretation of the Genesis account of creation (I Tim. 6:20, 21).

That New Evangelicalism, Neo-Orthodoxy, the Emerging Church Movement, and other related “movements” are unbiblical and must thereby, be rejected as such (II Tim. 4:1-5; Titus 1:9).

The Bible teaches both the sovereignty of God (Ps. 139) and the freewill of man (John 1:12). As Biblical Baptists we reject the teachings of Calvinism and Arminianism.

THE GODHEAD

That there is only one true God and that He is triune in His being. He manifests Himself in three distinct yet equal persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Deut. 4:35, 6:4; Jer. 10:10; Matt. 28:19; John 1:1-3; II Cor. 13:14; I John 5:7).

THE PERSON AND WORK OF JESUS CHRIST

That Jesus Christ is God and that He has existed and will continue to exist for all eternity as such (John 1:1-4; Rev. 1:8). Jesus Christ was active in creating the universe (Col. 1:16). Just as God the Father is holy, righteous, loving, merciful, just, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, unchanging (Heb. 13:8) etc., so is Jesus Christ. According to the will of the Father, Jesus Christ was sent to earth to be the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind (Jn. 1:14; II Cor. 5:21; I Tim. 2:3-6). He was conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of a virgin (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:20-23), He was fully God and fully man (Phil. 2:6-11), and He lived a perfectly sinless life though He was tempted in all points like as we are (Heb. 4:14-16). Jesus willingly died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the sins of all the world, and He was buried in the tomb for three days after which He rose again, conquering death and hell (I Cor. 15:3 4; Rev. 1:17, 18). Now Jesus Christ sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven where He intercedes on behalf of believers. Sometime in the future, Jesus Christ will rapture His saints to glory (I Thess. 4:13-18) and after a period of tribulation on earth, He will physically return to set up His kingdom for 1,000 years (Rev. 21: 1-27). All those who do not repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ as their Savior will one day be judged by Him at the Great White throne judgment which will conclude with each unsaved person being cast into the lake of fire for all eternity (Rev. 20:11-15).

THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY GHOST

That the Holy Spirit is God and that along with the Father and the Son, He was active in creating the universe (Gen.1:2). Holy men of God wrote the Holy Scriptures as they were moved by the Holy Ghost, thus making the Holy Spirit the one who inspired the Bible (II Pet. 1:19-21). God the Holy Spirit regenerates, seals, and immediately indwells all those who receive Christ as their Savior and he continues to be the great helper to all believers by sanctifying them to Christ likeness, enabling them for service, comforting them in trial, convicting them of sin, and illuminating them to truth (John 3:5-8; 14:16-18; Acts 1:8; Rom. 8:9; I Cor. 6:19; Ephesians 1:13, 14; 4:30; I Pet. 1:2). God the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He is here not to glorify Himself but to bring glory to Jesus Christ, and God the Father (John 16:7-14).

SALVATION

That salvation is a gift from God (Eph. 2:8, 9), available to all mankind through and only through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ the spotless Lamb of God (I Tim. 2:3-6; I Pet. 1:18,19; II Pet. 3:9). Salvation is a one-time decision that each person must choose to make individually (Matt 23:37; John 1:12; 3:16-18; Rom. 3:28). It involves repentance (a change of mind concerning sin and a turning from it) and faith in Jesus Christ’s finished work on the cross of Calvary (Acts 20:20, 21; 26:18, 20). When a person receives Christ as his Savior, he is delivered from the power of Satan and sin and is turned from death unto life for all of eternity (Rom. 8:35-39; Eph. 1:13).

That eternal security is a truth of Scripture which teaches that once a person receives Christ as his Savior he is saved forever. When a person is saved he is sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise and thereby kept by the power of God so that they or anyone else cannot do anything to cause that salvation to be lost (John 3:16; 5:24; 10:28; I John 5:13).

SEPARATION

That sanctification is the process by which a believer in Christ is made holy or set apart unto God. Although, position ally this takes place at the moment of salvation, practically sanctification is a process that takes place throughout the life of the believer (Rom. 8:28-30; I Pet. 1:15, 16) if he so chooses to “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” and walk in obedience to God’s Word (Phil. 3:13, 14; II Tim. 3:16, 17). Sanctification is becoming more like Christ; it will never be fully attained upon this earth but every believer is exhorted to strive for this goal.

That every Christian is commanded to live holy before God (I Pet. 1:15, 16). Being holy or set apart unto God demands separation from anything that is contrary to God’s nature therefore as a Bible-believing Christians we are to separate from all sinful/worldly activities and also from all those who habitually practice these sinful/worldly activities whether they are saved or lost. Separation from habitually disobedient brethren is also necessary, although the purpose is to restore them back to fellowship (II Cor. 6:14-18; Gal. 6:1; II Thess. 3:6; I John 2:15, 16).

That God has commanded his church to be holy and pure before Him (Eph. 5:25-27), therefore a Bible-believing local New Testament church should have no fellowship with other churches or preachers that practice or have a doctrinal position that is contrary to God’s Word (Rom. 16:17, 18; II Cor. 6:14-18; Eph. 5:11).

THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH

The church has been “called out” and set apart from this world to serve God. Called out by salvation (I Peter 2:9) and for separation from worldly living (II Corinthians 6:17).

A local assembling of saved people is considered a “church”. That God’s plan for this dispensation is carried out, in and through New Testament Local Churches. The local church is to be the “pillar and ground of the truth” (I Tim. 3:15) and is to be the entity by which the Great Commission is accomplished (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 13:1-3). To preach the word (I Timothy 4:13; Titus 2:1; Acts 20:7-9; II Timothy 4:2-4) The church is a place where you should get fed the words of God

(Acts 20:28; I Peter 5:2). Therefore, if you don’t attend church regularly you are missing some important nourishment! The purpose of assembling is to build up and strengthen the church through edification by the preached word of God (Ephesians 4:11-16).

There are only two officers and ordinances of a local church. The two officers being Pastor and Deacon (I Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; I Tim. 3:8-13), and the two ordinances being baptism by immersion only for believers only and the Lord’s Table or communion for remembrance of Christ’s crucifixion (Matt. 28:19-20; I Cor. 11:17-34).

THE SECOND ADVENT OF CHRIST

That the next event on God’s prophetic calendar is the “rapture” or “catching away” of all God’s saints in the clouds. We believe this “catching away” comes before the tribulation period (pre-tribulation) and that it is imminent, for there are no remaining prophecies that must be fulfilled before this event takes place (I Thess. 4:13-18; 5:9). We believe that sometime after the “rapture” the judgment seat of Christ will take place. This is when all church age believers will stand before Christ and be judged for how they lived their lives on earth (II Cor. 5:10). After the “rapture” of all born-again believers, the next event to take place is the seven-year tribulation, a time when Satan will empower a man called the Anti-Christ who will rule the world (II Thess. 2:1-4). During the tribulation, God will rain down His wrath upon the earth—many people will suffer greatly, and many people will die (Rev. 6:16). The main purpose of the tribulation is to turn unbelieving Israel back to God (Rom. 11:26, 27). At the end of these seven years, Jesus Christ the Almighty will come back to earth with His saints, defeat the anti-christ, bind Satan for 1,000 years and establish His literal earthly millennial kingdom (Rev. 19:11-20:3). At the end of 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth, Satan will be loosed for a short season and will rebel against God one last time only to be defeated permanently by being cast into the lake of fire for all of eternity. After Satan is cast into the lake of fire, the Great White Throne judgment will take place and all those who did not accept Christ as Savior will be cast into the lake of fire for all of eternity. (Rev. 20:3, 7-15). After this there will be a new heaven and a new earth, and the saints of God will be forever with their Savior living in glory (Rev. 21:1-3).

What Does God's Word Say About Salvation?

Friend, we would like to ask you the most important question of your life: and one that you must answer.

Your joy or your sorrow for all eternity depends upon your answer. The question is: Are you saved?

It is not a question of how morally good you are, if you have been baptized, or whether you are a church member; but simply are you truly saved?

Where Will You Spend Eternity?
the Bible God gives us his/the only plan of Salvation which means ‘to be saved’. God’s plan of Salvation is simple! You can be saved today: No matter what kind of life you have lived or are now living – and no matter how unworthy you may feel. How is that possible?

God says in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again. In John 3:7 (KJV), Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be born again.” Nicodemus was a well-respected religious ruler during the Roman Empire. Yet, Jesus told him that, even he had to be born again. The same applies to each and every one of us.

First, you must realize and accept the fact that you are a sinner: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”, Romans 3:23 (KJV). And you don’t have to feel that you are evil or unworthy for being a sinner; because, each and every person is born as a sinner.

You must repent. To repent is to see your condition as God sees it and turn from your sin of believing in your good works, church membership, and even your baptism or your unbelief. Turn from your ways of salvation and turn to the GOD who provided THE WAY, the TRUTH and The LIFE-in your place on the Cross.

Act 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

You must believe Believe the Truth- placing your complete confidence in Him and His ability to save you.

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

You must ask. To call upon the Lord is to ask (pray)Jesus Christ to forgive your sin and save you from an eternity in hell.

You must receive. To receive something, you must take it. Salvation is offered as a free gift from God.

Eph 2:8,9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

2Co_5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

What The Lord Jesus Christ (God Almighty) Did For You

Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Mat 27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head,…….

Mat 27:30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

Mat 27:31 And after that they had mocked him, …….., and led him away to crucify him.

Mat 27:35 And they crucified him,…………..

Mar 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Mat_20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. (for YOU)

Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Is Hell A Real Place?
Yes! The Lord Jesus Christ Himself says in Luke 16:23 – “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments…”Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death. “For the wages [payment] of sin is death”, Romans 6:23 (KJV). This death is an eternal separation from God in Hell. “…it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”, Hebrews 9:27 (KJV).

But, There Is Good News!
God loved you so much that he gave His only Son, Jesus, to bear your sin and die in your place. John 3:16 (KJV) states…For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God allowed Jesus (who knew no sin) to come to earth as a mortal man,”…He hath made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us…that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him”, 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV).

Jesus had to shed His blood and die so that we, as his creation, may have eternal life. Leviticus 17:11 (KJV) states…”For the life of the flesh is in the blood”. Hebrews 9:22 (KJV) further states,…”and without shedding of blood is no remission”. Mankind does not have the ability to understand how much Jesus Christ suffered for you and me – even while we were sinners “…God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”, Romans 5:8 (KJV).

Although we cannot understand how, or even why, God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus and He died in our place. He became our substitute. The fact is that Jesus Christ carried our sins to a cross of crucifixion for each and every one of us. Simply because he loved us that much!

Is Repentance Necessary?
Yes! In order to receive forgiveness of our sins, we must acknowledge sin and repent to God. “God… commandeth all men everywhere to repent”, Acts 17:30 (KJV). This repentance is a change of mind and heart that agrees with God that one is a sinner, and also agrees with what Jesus did for us on the Cross. In Acts 16:30-31 (KJV), the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas: “…’Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ And they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…’ “

Simply believe on Him as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried in a tomb, and whom God resurrected from that death. His resurrection powerfully and positively assures that the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is received as Savior.

Finally, you must confess to the world the wondrous mercy and grace of God. Romans 10: 9,10, & 11 (KJV) states, “ 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed”.

Friends, we pray that you will accept God’s free gift of salvation by humbling yourself, repenting of your sins, and praying sincerely to God to forgive you of your sins. You do not have to repeat a ‘sinner’s prayer’, and you don’t have to have someone lay hands on you; just be honest with yourself and express to God your heart’s desire to receive him as your Lord and personal Savior. Please accept his Salvation today. Find a Bible believing church that will help you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why do you mail the Cross Post Cards?

MORDECAI’S METHOD:

https://harvesthillbaptistchurch.com/welcome

Mordecai’s Method, as told in the book of Esther, was to use the Persian Empire Postal System to mail a letter of life to every province, reversing the letter of death sent out by Haman, which had ordered the death of every Jew. Using that same method and sending the card with the cross using the United States Postal System’s Every Door Direct Mail service, we can get the gospel into every household in any community in America, including gated or restricted areas, military basis, PO boxes, etc.—places we could not go any other way.

Believing that the nine verses of Scripture on the card and the QR code linked to a gospel video giving a clear presentation of the gospel and encouraging the listener to receive Christ and be saved forever will turn many people from sin to the Saviour.

If your church would like to send these cards to your city, go to: https://victorybaptistpress.com/mordecais-method/
